Hell's Kitchen Shooting: Gunman, Victim Found Dead At Construction Site, NYPD Says
Police found the gunman with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Two people are dead Thursday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide on the site of a Hell's Kitchen high-rise under construction.
A manhunt was triggered after police found a 37-year-old man shot in the head inside of 10 Riverside Boulevard, a construction site near the West Side Highway, according to an NYPD spokesman. Police say he was shot sometime after 7 a.m.
Police later found the suspected shooter — a 44-year-old man — suffering what appeared to be a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The victim was found on the building's 37th floor and the shooter was found on the building's fifth floor, police said.
The shooting was reportedly an act of workplace violence. Construction workers near the scene told New York 1 that the victim was a construction foreman and the shooter was recently laid off. Police could not confirm the identities of the victims.

Police asked citizens to stay clear of the area while they searched for the shooter and describedthe area as an "active scene" for a few hours Thursday morning, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
