Man Shot Near Times Square, 3 In Custody: Police

MIDTOWN, NY – At approximately 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a 39-year-old male was shot in the right leg less than a block from the heart of Times Square, authorities told Patch.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Three persons of interest are in custody, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch. “This is only preliminary information,” the spokesperson cautioned.

No firearm has been recovered, and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
