Man Shoved Onto Grand Central Tracks During Fight, Police Say

The fight started with an accidental bump on the subway station steps, police said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for shoving somebody onto the subway tracks at Grand Central Terminal during a fight on the train platform, police said.

The Monday evening fight started when a 47-year-old man accidentally made contact with suspect while walking up the steps to the 6 train platform at Grand Central, police said. When both men reached the platform, the suspect bumped the man from behind and challenged him to a fight, police said.

While the two men fought on the platform, the 47-year-old man was pushed down onto the train tracks, police said. The instigator fled the scene while other commuters helped the man back onto the platform, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his late 20s standing about 5-foot-8 with a thin build, police said. The NYPD released photos of the suspect Wednesday.
