Man Shoves 84-Year-Old, Yells Racial Slur In Hell's Kitchen: NYPD

The elderly woman was taken to a hospital after the attack.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — The NYPD hate crimes unit is trying to identify a man who attacked an elderly woman and yelled a racial slur at her on a Hell's Kitchen street, police said.

An 84-year-old woman was standing near Ninth Avenue and West 43rd Street on the night of Wednesday, July 11 when she was approached by an unknown man, police said. The man shoved the woman from behind and yelled an anti-white slur at her, police said.

The woman suffered bruising and abrasions to her right knee and elbow as a result of falling to the ground and was taken to a nearby hospital after the attack, police said.

The suspect is described as standing 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7 and police release photos of the man (seen above) this week. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, light colored pants and black shoes, police said.
