Man Slashed Near Herald Square: Police

The NYPD said the attack happened at the end of June at about 2:30 a.m.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man was punched and slashed in the face in an early morning Herald Square attack in June, police said.

On June 22, a 60-year-old man and a stranger got into an argument at about 2:30 a.m. near West 34th Street and Sixth Avenue when the stranger suddenly slashed the 60-year-old man in the face with a sharp object, according to police.

Officials said the suspected slasher fled west on West 34th Street and that the victim was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police released a photo of a man they are seeking in connection to the attack, describing him as hearing black clothing, black and white sneakers and a maroon and black hat.
