Midtown Break-In Leaves Woman Injured: Police
A man kicked down the door of a woman's Midtown apartment, stealing thousands in cash and leaving the woman injured, concussed, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — Police are looking for a man who kicked down a door of a Midtown woman's apartment at the beginning of the month.
The man stole thousands in cash and the woman was injured during a scuffle that left her with a concussion, cops said.
On Oct. 5 at about 7:40 p.m., the 33-year-old woman was sitting in her apartment near East 49th Street and Third Avenue when a stranger kicked down her apartment door, according to officials.

The man started to make demands and a fight broke out that ultimately left the resident with a concussion and minor injuries, police said.
About $5,000 in cash and a cell phone valued at $1,000 was stolen, officials said, and the man fled in a dark colored Nissan Rogue, traveling West on East 49th Street.

The woman was able to get herself to NYU Langone Medical Center where she was treated for her wounds.
Police released images of a person they say is connected to the break-in, and additionally said the man appeared to be in his early 30's, about six feet tall and weighing around 300 pounds.
