Midtown Construction Worker Falls On Bad Scaffolding: Officials
A worker tripped and was seriously injured on the 14th floor of a Midtown building, according to FDNY officials.

MIDTOWN, NY — A worker was seriously injured after falling on a poorly maintained scaffolding at a Midtown building, officials said.
At about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, a mason worker fell while walking down the stairs on a supported scaffold on the 14th floor of 511 Fifth Ave., said fire and Buildings Department officials.
According to a Buildings Department violation issued after the incident, the worker's leg got stuck between two steps on the scaffold.

The worker was brought to Bellevue Hospital with a serious back injury, according to FDNY officials.
The city issued two summons to the building owner, 511 Fifth Avenue LLC, for missing scaffold guardrails, a loose wood plan and other issues, a Buildings spokesperson said.

511 Fifth Ave is owned by a corporation controlled by a group of family trusts and was fully occupied by the Israel Discount Bank for decades, according to The Real Deal.
