MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A three-car crash on 34th Street shut down the busy Midtown thoroughfare on Tuesday and left multiple vehicles badly damaged, according to witnesses and reports from the scene.

The crash, on West 34th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, happened around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, steps from the Macy's flagship department store. It involved a Revel electric rideshare car, a double-decker bus, and a UPS delivery vehicle, according to photos and an NYPD spokesperson.

Photos and videos showed the bright-blue Revel car lying in the middle of the street, its front bumper wiped away and both its passenger and driver's sides appearing severely damaged.

One person was taken to Bellevue Hospital, an FDNY spokesperson said. Their condition was unclear.

A UPS delivery truck, meanwhile, had run partly up the curb on the street's south side, in front of an Old Navy store. Police and firefighters stood by the taped-off scene as bystanders craned their necks from the sidewalks.

Authorities had no immediate information about what led to the crash, but CBS2 reported that the Revel driver was trying to squeeze between the bus and UPS truck while moving at a high rate of speed — only to crash into both, according to witnesses.

Eastbound QM15, QM16 and QM17, and QM18 buses were all detoured by the crash, running along Madison Avenue between 34th and 42nd streets, the MTA said in a tweet.
