Midtown Elder Attacker Arrested: NYPD

MIDTOWN, NY — A man accused of attacking a 75-year-old woman in Midtown has been arrested and charged, police said.

Midtown resident Anthony Kwamel, 21, was charged with assault on Monday, according to officials.

Police claim that on June 10 at about 1:15 p.m., Kwamel began arguing with and shoved a 75-year-old woman to the ground in an unprovoked attack as the two crossed Sixth Avenue near West 34th Street.

Once on the ground, Kwamel then kicked the woman several times before fleeing towards downtown, according to officials.

Police said the victim suffered minor injuries and was brought to Mount Sinai West by first responders in stable condition.
