Midtown Halloween: Spooky Fun Across Town
From trick-or-treating in East Midtown to a haunted night of Mozart in Hudson Yards, it's time for scary amounts of fun.

MIDTOWN, NY — Halloween in Midtown is full of family fun this year.
From East Midtown to Bryant Park to Hudson Yards, there's plenty of events for people looking to catch in some frights before the next autumnal holiday season rolls around.
Here's some of the frightful fun planned for this weekend and for Halloween night:

Saturday, Oct. 28
Third Annual Sutton Spooktacular Celebration (2-5 p.m.)
- The Spooktacular returns to Sutton Place Parks on East 55th and 56th streets and Sutton Place South.
- Starting off with a Kid's Costume Parade at East 57th Street, the afternoon of fun continues with a magic show, a FDNY and NYPD vehicle show, dog treats, arts and crafts, pumpkin painting, a haunted house photo shoot, games, treats and a pooch & pup parade.
Sunday, Oct. 29
Mozart For Munchkins Spooktacular (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

- A free, spooky edition of the seasonal monthly music event held in Hudson Yards' Public Squares & Garden.
- The music-filled event, featuring saxophonist Evan Harris and his band, is for "overs of jazzy brass, dancing, and bubbles."
- There will also be a costume parade.
Tuesday, Oct. 31 (Halloween)
East Midtown trick-or-treating (3-7 p.m.):
- The East Midtown Partnership is inviting kids 12 and under for trick-or-treating at dozens of neighborhood businesses.
- To join and pick up a treat bag, kids can meet the organizers at either of two locations: the plaza outside 919 Third Ave. (at East 56th Street), which will have a free spooky photo booth to capture Halloween memories; or the senior facility Sunrise at 139 East 56th St. (Lexington Ave.), which will have free pumpkin-painting.
- From there, trick-or-treaters can stop at the many participating locations, from the 58th Street Library to Blooms Tavern to Oxford Cafe.

Bryant Park Tricks and Treats (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
- The park's Winter Village, which opens Friday, will be transformed into a trick or treat scene, giving kids of all ages plenty of opportunity to show off their costumes.
- The fun includes magic tricks, face painting, trick-and-treating, pumpkin decorating and a costume parade.
Thursday, Nov. 2
Times Square Open Streets Trick-or-Treat (4-10 p.m.)
- The city's "Trick-or-Streets" program will offer spooky fun with three parades and 27 car-free streets across Manhattan.
- Two days after Halloween, New York's sugar-hungry ghouls will rise from the grave and take over Broadway from West 47th Street to West 45th Street.
