Midtown Manhattan Bus Fire Near Grand Central Station Shuts Down Lexington
No one was injured in the blaze.

MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — A bus caught fire in Midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station on Thursday morning and shut down Lexington Avenue near 45th Street, authorities said.
According to one bystander, the windows of the bus were blown out on both sides. Notify NYC asked people to avoid the area, a major transportation artery during the morning commute.

An FDNY spokesman told Patch the blaze broke out around 6:40 a.m. and firefighters had it under control nearly an hour later. No one was injured in the fire, which some people in the area described as an "explosion."
