Midtown School Evacuated Over Bomb Threat: NYPD

MIDTOWN, NY — A bomb threat forced a building used by a Midtown college to evacuate Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

At about 2:45 p.m., a post-it-note was discovered inside of a bathroom at 500 West 56th St., a building used by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, police said.

The note contained allusions to a bomb threat, according to a NYPD official, forcing the building to evacuate.

After the building was evacuated, a team of NYPD officers searched for any sign of dangerous devices, but none were found, police said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the building — known as the Westport Building — was set to re-open shortly, a police official said.
