New Jersey Pedestrian Killed In Midtown Truck Strike: Police
A 2021 Ford Pickup struck and killed a 59-year-old man on Friday, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man was killed after being hit by a driver operating a pickup truck in Midtown early Friday morning, police said.
At around 6:30 a.m., Robert Sala, 59, was crossing Seventh Avenue near West 47th Street, officials said.
As the New Jersey man was walking in the crosswalk, a 49-year-old behind the wheel of a 2021 Ford pickup truck turned left onto Seventh Avenue and struck Sala, according to police.

First responders declared Sala dead at the scene, officials said.
The driver of the truck stayed on the scene and there were no other injuries reported, police said.

According to a police spokesperson, the crash remains under investigation by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.
