MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A Midtown Manhattan newsstand worker was hit in the face with a full soda can in a seemingly random attack, police said.

The 66-year-old worker was manning a stand on Eighth Avenue and West 50th Street on the night of Jan. 21 when an unknown man approached the stand and took a can of soda from the refrigerator, police said. Without warning, the man launched the can at the worker, hitting him in the face, an NYPD spokesman said.

The worker suffered injuries to his face but refused medical attention, police said.
