NJ Transit Cancellations, Diversions After Person Hit By Train
The person was hit and killed by an Amtrak train Friday morning, NJ Transit said. Service resumed at 10:25 a.m.

MIDTOWN, NY – A hellish week of commuting into the city continued Friday as New Jersey Transit temporarily suspended all service between Newark Penn Station Station and Penn Station in Midtown after a person was hit and killed on the tracks near Secaucus.
Thousands more commuters on the Midtown Direct trains, which ferry commuters into the city from New Jersey towns including Morristown, Maplewood and South Orange, were diverted to Hoboken.
The disruption hit during the peak of Friday morning's commute. NJ Transit's website said normal service resumed at 10:25 a.m.

NJ Transit blamed the changes on a "trespasser strike" and said the person was hit by an Amtrak train.
Friday was supposed to be the first day back to normal service for NJ Transit after Wednesday's storm caused widespread disruption. That came on the heels of major delays after an earlier nor'easter on March 2.
