NYC Hispanic Day Parade Guide: Start Time, Route, Street Closures

The Hispanic Day Parade is this Sunday, Oct. 14. Here's what you need to know about attending the event.

NEW YORK, NY — An estimated one million people are expected to celebrate the NYC Hispanic Day Parade on Sunday, Oct. 14. The parade — which is also referred to as the Hispanic Columbus Day Parade because its proximity to the holiday — is held at the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate the cultures of all Spanish-speaking people of New York City.

The annual Hispanic Day Parade was established in 1985, parade organizers said. This year's theme is "Empowerment of Women" and honorees include Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr., New York State Supreme Court Justice Carmen Velasquez, Executive Director of the Centro Civico Cultural Dominicano Dr. Marilu Galvan and many more.
