Pasta-Loving Patron Slashes Midtown Restaurant Worker: Police

An unhappy diner slashed a worker at the Pasta Lovers Italian restaurant in Midtown after an argument about his bill, police say.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A pasta-loving patron at a Midtown Italian restaurant slashed an employee after getting into an argument about his bill, police say.

The dining dispute happened around 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Pasta Lovers, a trattoria on West 49th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues.

The unidentified customer began arguing with a 40-year-old worker about check, then tried to leave the restaurant without paying, police said. When the employee tried to restrain him, the man took out a knife and slashed the worker, police said.

Authorities released surveillance images showing the suspect. They asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
