The NYPD closed off the four blocks surrounding the Lotte New York Palace Hotel to all vehicle traffic before, during and after the fundraiser. The streets were shut down at 2 p.m. and were expected to remain closed until 8 p.m., according to the NYPD's Midtown north precinct.
The Midtown Manhattan fundraiser is expect to raise about $5 million in one night, Republican National Committee officials told AM New York. About 75 people are expected to attend the event, according to the report.
Before the fundraiser, Trump attended an "immigration forum" on Long Island where he mainly talked about the violent street gang MS-13. Trump won't be staying in his Trump Tower penthouse Wednesday night. He's scheduled to head straight back to Washington D.C. by way of JFK Airport after the fundraiser, AM New York reported.
