Rapist Strikes On Hell's Kitchen Street, Police Say

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of raping a woman on a Hell's Kitchen street, police said.

A 31-year-old woman was walking in the Midtown neighborhood shortly after midnight on Sunday when she was grabbed on the arm by the unknown man, police said. The man led her to West 51st Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues and raped her, police said.

Medics took the woman to an area hospital after the attack, police said. The woman was in stable condition and suffering from bruising to her arm, back and leg, said police.

Police released a surveillance video this week which shows the suspect walking down a Midtown street after the attack. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene heading north on Broadway at West 52nd Street, police said. No arrests have been made.
