Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink Grand Opening Next Week
The rink is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
MIDTOWN, NY — You may still be in denial that summer has ended, but Rockefeller Center's famous ice skating rink is already diving head-first into winter. The Rink at Rockefeller Center is officially opening for the season on Saturday, Oct. 8, and reservations for skating packages are already available. Put those sandals away in storage, people.
"As the weather is cooling down here in New York City, we are looking forward to the many memories that will be shared at The Rink's 80th Anniversary this season!" the rink's Facebook post said.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the rink, so it's an especially special year to celebrate your birthday, a proposal, or just a good time with friends on the ice.
