Rudy Giuliani Involved In Minor Traffic Collision: Police

A car carrying Rudy Giuliani collided with a pedicab driver Thursday afternoon.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — The door of a car carrying former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani opened onto a pedicab riding through Hell's Kitchen Thursday, police said.

Giuliani's vehicle was on West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue when the door struck the pedicab driver, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The spokeswoman could not confirm whether Giuliani was the person who opened the door.

Neither Giuliani nor the pedicab driver were injured during the collision, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The former mayor recently joined the legal team of President Donald Trump and subsequently resigned from New York City law firm Greenburg Traurig. Giuliani's role on Trump's legal team is to navigate Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian election interference, which he confirmed when resigning from Greenburg Traurig.

"In light of the pressing demands of the (special counsel Robert) Mueller investigation, I believe it is in everyone's best interest that I make it a permanent resignation," Giuliani said in a statement. "This way, my sole concentration can be on this critically important matter for our country."

Giuliani has made several noteworthy cable news appearances since joining Trump's legal team. During one such appearance, he said that Trump had reimbursed his personal lawyer Michael Cohen for a payment Cohen made to Stephanie Clifford, the pornographic film actress known by her stage name Stormy Daniels. Clifford has said she was paid $130,000 to prevent her from discussing an alleged sexual encounter she had with Trump before the 2016 election, but the president had denied any knowledge of the payment before Giuliani's admission.
