Truck Smashes Into Scaffolding On Midtown Street, FDNY Says
One person was taken to the hospital after a truck slammed into a scaffolding on Third Avenue and East 42nd Street.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A scaffolding collapsed on a Midtown street corner Friday evening after a truck smashed into the structure, city and fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the corner of Third Avenue and East 42nd Street around 5:30 p.m. and are still operating at the scene of the collapse, an FDNY spokesman said. The Department of Buildings will investigate the collapse, a department spokesman said.
One person was taken to Bellevue hospital suffering minor injuries, an FDNY spokesman said.

The scaffolds appears to have collapsed onto a tow truck carrying a number of individual cars, according to photos taken at the scene.
