Second Person in One Week Killed by Train in Times Square: Officials

The person was found DOA Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the FDNY said.

MIDTOWN, NY — The second person in one week was hit and killed on Wednesday morning by a train near the Times Square subway station, an FDNY spokesperson said.

A call came in to the FDNY at 9:18 a.m. about a person who had been struck by a train at the Times Square-42nd Street subway station, the spokesperson told Patch. Firefighters removed the body, declared the person dead on arrival, and handed the case over to the NYPD.

An NYPD spokesperson could not confirm the incident to Patch Wednesday afternoon, but local news outlets reported police sources confirmed it. The NYPD did not yet reveal the name or description of the victim.

On Wednesday afternoon, N Q, R, and W trains were skipping the Times Square station, according to the MTA. N and Q lines northbound were running local from Herald Square to 57th Street. Q lines were ending at the Prospect Park stop.

On Monday, a woman was shoved in front of a train at the same station and killed by 30-year-old Queens woman, Patch reported.
