Second Shooting On West 51st This Week: Police
A 26-year-old man was shot in the back multiple times on Thursday morning, officials said.

MIDTOWN, NY – At about 4:15 a.m. on Thursday morning, a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back at 535 West 51st Street near 11th Avenue in Midtown, police confirmed.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital by private means and is expected to survive, according to police.
He was uncooperative, officials said, and no information about what led to the incident or any assailant/assailants is available at this time.

There have been no arrests and the incident remains under investigation.
On Tuesday, a 17-year-old teenage boy was hospitalized after he was shot in the back at 51st Street and 10th Avenue, less than a block away.

Any relationship between the two incidents is “unknown,” a police spokesperson emphasized, which means that at this time authorities have not established a connection between the two shootings.
