Smoke Stalls 7 Train Between Queens, Manhattan: MTA
Service between boroughs was suspended starting shortly after 1:30 p.m. for an FDNY investigation.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Trains on the 7 line were suspended between Queens and Manhattan on Friday afternoon while firefighters investigated smoke at the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue Station in Long Island City, MTA officials said.
The FDNY investigation stalled trains between the boroughs starting shortly after 1:30 p.m., MTA officials said. An FDNY spokesman could not confirm details about the investigation when asked around 2 p.m.
Service was restored with delays shortly after 2 p.m., an MTA official said.

Transit officials advised subway riders to try the E, F and M lines for service between Queens and Manhattan on Friday. Passengers could also try the N, R and W lines, but they were running with delays due to an earlier problem, MTA officials said.
