Stephen Sondheim, Broadway Legend, Dies Aged 91

MIDTOWN, NY – Stephen Sondheim, a Broadway legend whose work included "Sweeney Todd" and the lyrics to "West Side Story," died Friday, the New York Times reported. He was 91.

The songwriter's death was announced to the newspaper by his lawyer F. Richard Pappas. He said the composter had celebrated Thanksgiving with friends in his Connecticut home before dying suddenly early Friday.
