MANHATTAN, NY — A young woman was hit by a train at the 23rd Street F/M station Monday morning, according to officials.

The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, was on the tracks for unknown reasons when she was stuck by an incoming train about 11 a.m., police said.

The train operator saw the woman on the tracks as the front car pulled in, officials said, and tried to stop.

First responders brought the woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police said.

Downtown F/M trains are now running express from 34th Street-Herald Square to West Fourth Street-Washington Square.
