Tricyclist Dies After Crashing Into Midtown Dumpster, Police Say

Dilshoda Abdusamatov, 23, suffered critical internal injuries when she lost control of her three-wheeled bike in Midtown, police said.

MIDTOWN — A New Jersey woman died after crashing her tricycle into a Midtown dumpster last week, according to police.

Dilshoda Abdusamatov, 23, lost control of her three-wheeled bike on West 36th Street and Ninth Avenue just before midnight on July 20, police said.

Abdusamatov slammed into a dumpster on the curb and suffered critical internal injuries, said police.

It's not clear what caused Abdusamatov to lose control, as police say no other car was involved in the crash.

The woman, from Millstone in Monmouth County, died at Mount Sinai West the following day, said police.

Police released the young woman's name Thursday morning.
