Woman Beaten With Rolling Suitcase In Hell's Kitchen, Police Say

The woman was knocked to the ground and then hit with a suitcase by her attacker.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — An attacker used a rolling suitcase as a weapon to beat a woman on a Hell's Kitchen street, police said.

The 63-year-old victim was walking on 10th Avenue and West 51st Street on the night of Jan. 1 when she was approached by an unknown man who knocked her to the ground with a punch, police said. When the woman was on the ground, the man swung a rolling suitcase at her head, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The attacker continued to launch punches at the woman before eventually fleeing the scene, police said. Medics treated the woman for injuries to her face.

Police are still investigating the assault and have not made any arrests. The NYPD recently released a photo of the suspect taken by street security cameras.
