Woman Commits Suicide From Midtown Hotel Rooftop Bar
She fell 14 stories to her death just after midnight Thursday, police said.
MIDTOWN, NY — A woman jumped 14 stories to her death off a Midtown hotel rooftop bar early Thursday morning, an NYPD spokesperson said.
The woman ate at the bar, Bookmarks, on the roof of the Library Hotel on Madison Avenue and E. 41st Street, just before committing suicide, police said. She jumped just after midnight.
The 33-year-old wrote the names of some of her relatives to contact after her death, the NYPD spokesperson confirmed. The NYPD had arrived on the scene right before she jumped but could not stop her.

The woman, whose name police are not yet releasing, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that took place at our hotel last night," a spokesperson for the Library Hotel said in a statement. "Our guests safety and well-being is our number one priority, and our team is fully cooperating with the local officials."
