Woman Goes On Tire-Slashing Rampage In Midtown, Police Say

The woman slashed tires and scratched several cars parked on a large stretch of Midtown streets.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a woman wanted for damaging multiple parked cars in a large area of Midtown Manhattan, police said.

The woman walked from West 50th to 55th street on Fifth to Eighth avenues Wednesday morning slashing tires and scratching cars with an unknown sharp object, police said. Police did not say how many cars were damaged but did say it was more than one.

The motive for the car-damaging rampage is currently unknown.

Police released a photo of the suspect (seen above) taken by a security camera. The woman is described as being in her 20s with short cropped hair. She was last seen wearing all dark clothing, police said.
