Woman Hit By Train At Penn Station, Causing Rush-Hour Delays

A woman was struck by a subway train as she stood on the platform at 34th Street-Penn Station Thursday morning, causing delays.

The 58-year-old woman was on the northbound E train platform around 8:26 a.m. when she came into contact with a train entering the station, an NYPD spokesperson said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A woman was struck by an oncoming train Thursday morning as she stood on a subway platform at the 34th Street-Penn Station, police said.

The 58-year-old woman was on the northbound E train platform around 8:26 a.m. when she came into contact with a train entering the station, an NYPD spokesperson said.

She suffered cuts to the head and was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

It was unclear how the woman ended up in the path of the train, but police do not believe she was the victim of a crime.

Uptown C and E trains were running with delays shortly before 9 a.m. as police and paramedics responded to the scene, the MTA said in a tweet.
