Woman Jumps To Death From Midtown Hotel, Police Say

The 23-year-old woman's body was found Wednesday morning on the second-floor balcony of the Hotel Wolcott.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Police are investigating the death of a woman who likely jumped to her death from a Midtown Manhattan hotel, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

A 23-year-old woman's body was found Wednesday on the second-floor balcony of the Hotel Wolcott around 7:45 a.m., police said. The three-star hotel is located on West 31st Street near Fifth Avenue.

EMS responded to the scene and pronounced to woman dead, police said. The woman suffered trauma consistent with a fall from an elevated position and police believe she jumped from a higher floor of the hotel, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The woman's identity was not revealed by police.

The city medical examiner's office will investigate the woman's exact cause of death, police said.
