Worker Injured At Midtown's Roosevelt Hotel, FDNY Says

The worker was seriously injured during what an FDNY spokesman called an "electrical incident."

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — One worker was seriously injured Thursday afternoon at the Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, an FDNY spokesman said.

The FDNY responded to the East 45th Street four-star hotel around 4:25 to find a worker suffering injuries on the 19th floor, a department spokesman said. The incident leading up to the injury was described as an "electrical incident" but "not quite an explosion," an FDNY spokesman said.

The worker was taken to an area hospital suffering serious injuries but in stable condition, fire officials said. No fire was discovered at the hotel, an official said.
