Tim Green, a New York Times bestselling author visited the Rocky Point middle school to speak to the children about how he got his start as an author and the importance of being determined no matter what field you go in.
The middle felt Green's appearance was so important they held an assembly where Green got to stress the importance of education, reading, and how things you learn in middle school and beyond can really help to shape your success.
“I always wanted to write books that people could get lost in,” said Green. “Make sure you work just as hard in school as you do in sports. Everything you put into your education will pay you back and will be there to help you succeed in the future.”

Besides speaking, Green read aloud the first chapter of his latest young adult novel called, "Unstoppable." After the reading, Green stayed to sign books for students. To further encourage teens to develop a lifelong love for reading, Greene donated $1,500 worth of books to the school.
This donation will bring a new slew of books into the middle school library helping students continue their goal of figuring out what they are passionate about.
