Crimes Nearby: Credit Cards Stolen from Unlocked Trucks
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

• The owner of an East Setauket-based tree service reported July 23 that two credit cards were stolen from two different trucks that were unlocked and parked in a gated yard on West Meadow Road at around noon. The credit cards were used at a gas station and Walmart.
•The owner of an auto repair station on Comsewogue Road reported that a GMC vehicle was stolen from the property sometime between 4:45 p.m. on July 22 and 12:40 p.m. on July 23.
• The owner of a home on Scotts Cove in Poquott reported July 21 someone stole jewelry and sports memorabilia sometime between 11 a.m. on July 13 and 10:30 p.m. on July 21. The thief reportedly entered the home by taking out an air conditioner and climbing through the window.Port Jefferson
• According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, a man who pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in relation to the hit-and-run crash that led to the death of a Coram woman hid his vehicle in his parents' backyard, reportedly telling them the blood on the car and broken windshield came from an incident at a Patchogue nightclub.

According to police, a man broke three windows at the barbershop between 6:30 p.m. on July 8 and 7:45 a.m. on July 9. Authorities said he took off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the business, located at 4577 Nesconset Highway.
Smithtown
Michael Urbancik, 26, of Smithtown was arrested July 24 on charges of second-degree strangulation, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing on Coe Court. Urbancik grabbed another person by the throat and held his hand over their nose until the person lost consciousness.
