DON'T MISS IT: Celebrate Sound Beach Weekends in July

Coming up in July, those in the Sound Beach and surrounding communities will have a chance to 'Celebrate Sound Beach' with multiple events.

There will be community-wide open houses, community-wide garage sales and arts & crafts at the Veterans Memorial Park on New York Avenue on July 20 and 21. Rain dates for these events will be the following weekend, July 27 and 28. 

A map of the best garage sales in the area can be picked up at the Vets Memorial Park. One will also be posted on Patch a few days before the event.

Scholarship Fund Food Fair and Chinese Auction will also be held July 28 from 4-8 p.m. at the Sound Beach Firehouse. A donation of $20 is required, $18 for blocks of 10 or more and children under 10 are free. 

This event helps raise funds to award $1000 scholarships to two Sound Beach students, one in the Miller Place District and one in Rocky Point. Over a dozen restaurants contribute their signature dishes and local merchants and individuals contribute the prizes. Tickets will be available at the Veterans Memorial the day of the sales, at the door, or by calling 744-6952.
