Rocky Point Middle School educators are using their coaching and training skills in Integrative Mental Health Social-Emotional to support students’ academic, social and emotional development and promote wellness to aid in success in the classroom and beyond. The educators’ training starts with their own personal choices of self-care and tools that they use to help manage their own stress and emotions.

The training is facilitated under the direction of Project Presence lead developer and founder Joshua Hendrickson and Madeline Murray, a creative art therapist who integrates mind-body practices within a wellness and arts therapy approach.

“After we have our training, we are excited to bring what we have learned into the classroom, and our students look forward to the exercises and discussions as well,” music teacher Mrs. Meghan Walter said. “We are excited to continue the year with IMSEL training and look forward to the positive support we can offer our students.”
