'Glow Day' Held At Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School
Second graders participated in glow-in-the-dark activities.

Students in Julianne Warren and Erin DeMarco’s class at Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School in Rocky Point participated in Glow Day, a fun day in which they completed glow-in-the-dark themed activities. The second graders learned about the parts of a firefly and how they glow, then created their own firefly craft complete with finger lights to make them glow.

Students practiced reading their sight words in a glow in the dark cup stack game and reviewed their subtraction skills with glow day bowling. Principal Jason Westerlund joined in for a math ring toss to practice their addition skills.
“Students enjoyed participating in these activities in their glow day glasses and glow in the dark classroom,” Warren said. “They said it was ‘glow much fun!’”
