Local Artists Showcase Talents at Gallery Z [PHOTOS]

What started as a marketing office has become a place where locals showcase their art and musical talents on a weekly basis.

Gallery Z, located in the Paradise Marketing office in Rocky Point, displays local art and hosts bands each week. After just holding art galleries at first, they then decided to add some music to the mix.

"We were realizing we needed to get more people through the door and how better to do that than music?," Hickey said. "We started promoting the heck out of this place on Facebook and got people in the local music scene to come and start creating."

It began as a local mic night until they gained popularity and began spotlighting certain bands. The gallery is hosting a Rock N Roll Dance Party Friday at 8 P.M. with six local bands.

"We just want to have passionate creators get together and showcase their talents," Hickey said.
