Here are the top three stories today in Miller Place-Rocky Point:
- Parents protested in front of Miller Place High School Tuesday after the district sent out a letter saying it was removing mask breaks for students, following updated state guidelines. The school then sent out another letter explaining mask breaks would return in the elementary school. (News 12)
- Suffolk police are looking for information about seven 55-gallon drums of toxic substances that were dumped in an open area owned by the Town of Brookhaven, off Miller Place-Yaphank Road, near Cypress Court. The illegal dumping happened on Dec. 15 and 16 in 2020. (Patch)
- A Blue Point Brewing Co. Brewpub has opened in MacArthur Airport, replacing Maggie O'Shea's. The pub serves six Blue Point beer on tap and snacks and burgers. (Subscription: Newsday)
