The North Shore Beach Property Owners Association will be having a fundraising event on November 9, 2024 at their North Shore Beach Clubhouse at 55 Clubhouse Drive in Rocky Point, NY from 7 pm - 10 pm. This fundraiser will be to raise the much needed funds to make repairs to it's property from recent storm damage. Everyone who attends will be greatly appreciated for their efforts in their support for this event in our time of need. We hope you can attend this great fun event. There will be a wine voucher, 50/50 raffles, live entertainment with the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band and dancing. This event is a belated Halloween/Concert Party and Halloween costumes are optional, so it does not matter if you come as you are or wear your costume it is going to be a fun night no matter what. On October 23rd at 4 pm there will be a live interview on WPKN Radio 89.5 on your FM dial on this upcoming event and the performance of the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band at the North Shore Beach Property Owners Association club house. The host of the show will be Harry Minot who will interview some members of the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band including Mike Armando who was Hawkins guitarist back in the 1970's, TheRealShakar" Brumfield who is the vocalist of the group and the listeners of WPKN will be able to hear their music played over the air. Another person in attendance will be Gina Carpenter (Stacknick) who is the Vice President of the North Shore Beach Property Owners Association. Gina will be speaking more about this upcoming event on the raidio show. To listen to the show live tune in at WPKN Radio at 4 pm.

The Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band will take you back in time to the crazy days of Screamin' Jay Hawkins himself.

The Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band is a tribute project and has toured up and down the east coast, and they bring the music of the legendary Screamin’ Jay Hawkins back to life. They perform live shows that take audiences back in time, offering a unique experience that captures the spirit of one of rock’s true wild men. This band is composed of highly talented and seasoned musicians, including Mike Armando, who was the original guitarist for Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in the 1970s. TheRealShakar made his stage-acting debut in the off-Broadway stage play/musical "Life Insurance" in December 2016. Shakar "TheRealShakar" Brumfield who is the vocalist for the group has performed on stages all over the Tri-State area, the east coast and the DMV. In late 2016 he won the Apollo's theater award for his singing. Other members of the band are Mike Armando - guitar, Tex - saxophone, Andrew Golba - bass and Michael Fox on drums. The band not only performs Hawkins’ music but also aims to recreate the wild and theatrical essence of his performances.

"I Put A Spell On You" the song that was released in 1956. The song, that never made it to the charts when it was released, would eventually be covered several hundred times by the likes of Nina Simone, Credence Clearwater Revival, and Marilyn Manson; Jeff Beck and Joss Stone’s version even received a Grammy nomination in 2010. It was selected as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and was added to Rolling Stones’ list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. North Shore Beach is a stretch of private beach front property located in Rocky Point, Long Island, N.Y.. There are four access points at Beech Road Beach, Broadway Beach, Nimbus Beach and Friendship Beach. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join. Members enjoy access to the beaches and discounted clubhouse rental rates.
