Rocky Point Middle School Named 'One To Watch' By National Group

The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform looks at how to address the unique emotional, academic needs of the middle grades.

ROCKY POINT — A national coalition of educators and researchers specializing in the unique needs of middle school students has named Rocky Point Middle School a "School to Watch."

The honor is given to schools that excel at meeting those needs in the areas of academics, developmental needs, social equity and organizational support.

Rocky Point Middle School also previously received the nod in 2019.

The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform is a coalition alliance of educators, researchers and groups to "promote the academic performance and healthy development of young adolescents," according to a statement from Rocky Point UFSD.

“This is an honor that is shared among our administrators and educators working cohesively with our students as they navigate a successful outcome to the changes and challenges of the middle school years,” Principal James Moeller said.
