Rocky Point School District Represented At Annual PEAK Festival

The Rocky Point School District congratulates 10 fourth graders from Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School who participated in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association PEAK (Parents, Educators and Kids) Festival, held at Northport High School on Oct. 22. The annual festival is a series of musical workshops in which parents, educators and kids have the unique opportunity to make music in a collaborative setting. This festival offers parents a bird’s eye view of the types of activities their children experience in their music classes.

The students who participated are Faith Abbe, Antonia Athanasakes, Corrine Gabriel, Giovanni Guzman, Isabella Imeidopf, Autumn Roper, Mariel Solano, Kenley Sontag, Mallack Walsh and Denise Weyer.
“We are very proud of the students selected who participate at the SCMEA PEAK Festival,” Rocky Point Music Department Co-Chairperson Craig Knapp said. “Their accomplishments are to be celebrated. It is a high honor to be accepted into this festival with many fine student musicians from across Suffolk County. Thank you to the families of these talented students for all of their support and encouragement. This was a magnificent experience to be involved in a shared setting for joyful music making. The smiles on the faces of all those involved during the festival, especially the parents, speaks volumes about the magnitude of this special event.”
