Rocky Point High School student Sophia Mazzella was honored by the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology’s Gary D. Bixhorn Technical Center where she is a student. Sophia earned Employee of the Month in the Animal Science program.

Sophia was lauded as being a role model among her peers and for her professionalism. The Employee of the Month program was established to recognize students whom their instructors would want to hire. The designation honors students who demonstrate professionalism and have the desire to be trained.
