- A team of animal rescuers freed a 250-pound doe that was stuck between two fences at Rocky Point High School's football field. Strong Island Animal Rescue League and Yaeger's Run Rescue helped save the deer on Wednesday. (Patch)
- A resident of a group home on Roanoke Avenue is charged with a felony after assaulting another resident. Nicholas Lobianco, 35, caused laceration and puncture wounds to James Meahan, 39. Both men are residents of a home operated by Community Housing Innovations. (RiverheadLOCAL)
- The new state COVID-19 testing site at Heckscher State Park closed early on Wednesday after reaching capacity. The site was only open from 8 to 9 a.m. (News 12)
