• Free Weight Loss Seminar Hosted By Dr. Arif Ahmad: Dr. Arif Ahmad and John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port 
Jefferson have been jointly recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence 
since 2007 and now offer a comprehensive program including nutritional 
support, psychological help, exercise programs and surgery. Thousands of 
patients have benefited from this program which is recognized as 
a premier program in Long Island. Physicians, nutritionists and 
staff provide the support and help you need to be successful and get 
your life back! Seminar starts Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at John T. Mather Hospital.
• Heart Jewel Puja: Heart Jewel practice is the very essence of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we will naturally overcome obstacles, accomplish realizations, and we will attain a very special Dharma wisdom. Tuesdays 6-6:45 p.m. This month December 3, 17 Pujas (Chanted Prayers) All pujas are free of charge. All of our prayers and meditation practices are recited in English with CD accompaniment. These chanted prayer practices are suitable for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners.
• Soup and Serenity: What's for Lunch? Soup & Serenity with Maggie Cooper 12:30-1:30 pm Drop in to any class at Dipamkara Meditation Center, 301D East Main Street, Port Jefferson. In our busy lives we often don't see the connection between our state of mind and our daily experiences. Please join us to learn practical methods and meditations to 
transform our stressful life into one of clarity and positive energy. Then enjoy a bowl of homemade soup and good conversation. $5.00 (Free for Members of the Center). No class on December 25
• Historical Film Matinee: Are you a history buff? Do you find yourself comparing accuracies of historical movie events to real historical events? If so, join us each month to view a movie. Portraying different time periods in history. This week, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Free Library we will be playing Flyboys (2006).
