2 Nassau Shop Clerks Arrested In Underage Drinking Sting: Police
State police arrested two clerks at two Nassau County businesses this week as part of an underage drinking enforcement sting.
MINEOLA, NY — Two Nassau County shops have been cited for selling alcohol to underage undercover state troopers. State police on Wednesday conducted a sting operation at shops in Westbury, Mineola, Carle Place and Old Westbury.
Among them was Fortune Smoke Shop on Old Country Road in Westbury and AAC Convenience Store on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. State police arrested clerks Anil Patwa, 66, of Albertson, and Katty Garibaldi-Espana, 52, of Levittown, at the two businesses, respectively.
Patwa and Garibaldi-Espana face charges of 1st-degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol.

State police visited 10 other businesses as well: four in Westbury, one in Carle Place, one in Old Westbury and four in Mineola. All were found to be in compliance with the law, state police said.
