7-Eleven Hosting Free Slurpee Day on Thursday

Thursday is July 11.

Why should you care? Well, July 11 is the annual "7-Eleven Day" and customers of the national convenience store can pick up a free Slurpee from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all stores.

Mineola has a located at the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Mineola Boulevard.

This year, however, the Slurpees will actually be bigger than in the past.

USA Today reported that the normal 7.11-ounce Slurpees are being replaced with 12-ounce Slurpees because there's less of a mess with the larger cups, which come with lids.
