Liquid Thrown At TR Statue During Pro-Palestinian Protest: Police

MINEOLA, NY — During a pro-Palestinian protest in Mineola, a woman threw liquid on the statue of Theodore Roosevelt, police said.

The protest was held on Saturday afternoon at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building.

Allyson Fairbanks, 60, of Queens, threw a red-colored liquid on the statue, causing $2,000 worth in damage before fleeing, authorities said.

An investigation led police to locate and arrest Fairbanks. She is charged with second-degree criminal mischief and making graffiti, police said.

She is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
